About the role

Mater Private Hospital has an opportunity available for an experienced Senior Administration Officer to join us working with the Admissions Team in the Annerley Rd Rehab Centre, Mater Private Hospital and the Mater Private Bookings Team. This position will be offered as Permanent Part Time at 56 hours per fortnight. The successful candidate will need to be available for all shifts across a Monday to Friday working week anywhere between the hours of 0730 to 1800.

- Providing Exceptional Customer Service to patients and clients
- Processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges and the preparation of clinical forms
- Providing administrative support to clinical staff
- Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality, complying with administration and financial policy and procedures, maintaining accurate, current and accessible files, including maintenance of records
- Continually demonstrate highly developed written communication skills
- Manage, organize, and provide confidential administrative support to the Surgical & Procedural Services Unit ensuring maximum utilisation of private theatre sessions
- Assist in the preparation of waiting list reports, theatre schedules and other associated correspondence on a range of Surgical & Procedural Service issues
- Assist with accurate data entry using electronic systems
- Exercise judgement where necessary to solve immediate problems in situations where precedents have not been set and procedures not defined

About you

The successful candidate will possess:

- Highly experienced in providing medical administration support
- Highly developed time management and organizational skills
- Strong computer skills including competence in using Patient Administration systems (or the ability to quickly learn new systems)
- Knowledge of Health Funds
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to organize and prioritize work effectively within a busy, fast-paced, demanding environment
