About Dentons

Dentons is the world’s largest law firm. We’re 20,000+ people globally across 80+ countries including USA; Europe; India and Asia. We are a global polycentric firm which is expanding rapidly in an increasingly globalised legal industry. Dentons now consistently ranks as one of the five best regarded legal brands in the world according to the Acritas Global Elite Law Firm Brand Index.

About the Role

An opportunity is available for a Solicitor or Associate level lawyer to assist in supporting our Partners in their practice. They specialise in a broad range of planning, environment and government matters. With a strong track record of success and clear direction, our Partners continue to raise the bar on what defines excellence in client service and delivery.

The team's success is built on an inclusive, empowering and collaborative foundation. Their enabling learning culture empowers you to improve your technical ability and commercial astuteness to achieve your career aspirations.

This practice group advises high profile corporate developer and council clients, as well as high net worths. You will be an integral part of the team. In addition to Land and Environment Court litigation matters, you will also be involved in development projects and will learn to sharpen your front end planning law skills in relation to the rezoning of land, the negotiation of VPAs, and the resolution of complex and, often, novel environmental planning issues.

About You

This is an opportunity for a 1 to 3 year PQE lawyer to join a prominent Planning, Environment and Government practice.

Your clear and concise communication style and professionalism, combined with an ambitious, resourceful nature will see you thrive as a member of our Dentons team.

You will have:

- a minimum of 1 year of PQE in NSW planning and environment law;

- strong analytical skills;

- a clear and concise written and verbal communication style;

- solid client and matter management skills;

- a relative degree of technical ability;

- a good grasp of general commercial legal principles;

- superior time management skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities; and

- strong team orientation with a collaborative approach.
