Position Information
Established in 1887, Wentworth Falls Public School has a proud history of serving the community. Wentworth Falls Public School has a population of 368 (23 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and 70 students from a Non English Speaking Background). The school has fifteen classes, including an opportunity class and are committed to providing inclusive, safe and quality teaching and learning.
Our collective goal is to provide a rich educational environment that supports the consistent development and improvement of student outcomes. This is made possible by a committed staff, supportive parents and community partnerships. The school offers a wide range of extra-curricular programs including choir, dance, string and recorder ensembles, public speaking and debating, chess and varied sporting activities. The school has a committed and hard-working P&C which complements the educational and cultural experiences at the school and beyond.
Specific Selection Criteria
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary with a demonstrated ability to balance exemplary classroom practice with school leadership responsibilities, including leading initiatives, mentoring colleagues, and driving strategic improvement aligned with the School Excellence Plan. Demonstrated experience working as part of a dynamic leadership team, strategically planning, leading and monitoring initiatives and applying evidence-based and data-informed practices to drive continuous improvement with a focus on high expectations and differentiation for all students across the full range of abilities and backgrounds. An approachable and visible leader with proven ability to strengthen a dynamic and responsive school-wide approach to student inclusion, wellbeing, attendance and behaviour management processes enabling every student to connect, succeed, and thrive. Proven ability to lead with integrity and emotional intelligence, fostering authentic connections and collaborative partnerships with students, staff, parents, and the wider community to enhance learning and wellbeing across the school.
General Selection Criteria
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department/'s Aboriginal education policy
