We/'re Hiring: Seeking a casual Community Worker for our Kempsey based office.

The Role

We are seeking a passionate and community-focused Community Worker to join our team in Kempsey. In this role, you'll contribute to improving the health and wellbeing of the local community by sharing accurate health information, raising awareness at events and outreach activities, and helping people access essential services and resources. You will also provide valuable insights from the community to help us improve and grow our programs.

About You

You are approachable, empathetic, and confident in engaging with people from diverse backgrounds. You have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with individuals, families, and groups. You are culturally sensitive, especially when working with Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and other culturally and linguistically diverse communities. You are organised, a team player, and committed to building healthier, stronger communities.

To be successful, you will demonstrate:

- Solid interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse groups.
- Cultural competency and sensitivity, particularly when working with Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
- Ability to engage with individuals, families, and groups through events, outreach, and conversations.
- Active listening, empathy, and the ability to provide appropriate support and referrals.
- Organisational and time management skills to plan and prioritise work.
- Ability to document engagement activities, maintain accurate records, and report outcomes.
- Teamwork and collaboration skills to support colleagues and communicate with stakeholders.
- Digital literacy to use communication platforms, maintain records, and support reporting.
- Commitment to providing accurate and current community information.

Please note that a satisfactory police check is required for all staff and those with client related responsibilities are required to provide a NDIS and Working with Children Check (WWCC).
