City of Brisbane, Australia Hunt St, Pty Full time

Looking for Filipino (Philippines-based) candidates

Job Role: E-commerce Specialist

Compensation range: $2,000 AUD - $2500 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is:

The client is a Brisbane-based supplier of high-quality landscaping products and materials, catering to both DIY enthusiasts and professional landscapers. They offer a wide range of items including retaining walls, fencing, garden supplies, paving, turf, and tools. With a strong focus on durability, aesthetics, and sustainability, they work closely with manufacturers to provide eco-friendly and innovative solutions. Known for their exceptional customer service and industry expertise, they aim to build long-term relationships based on trust and product reliability.

Role Overview:

We’re seeking a proactive, detail-driven, and autonomous E-commerce Specialist to partner with our Marketing and E-commerce Manager in managing and optimising our (AusLS) Shopify Plus online store. You’ll oversee the performance and growth of the website, owning projects from start to finish and ensuring the site is accurate, engaging, and high-performing. This role requires a self-starter with proven ecommerce expertise, capable of working independently, identifying opportunities, and delivering improvements without constant direction.

Key Responsibilities:

● Shopify Management: Handle all aspects of online store operations, including product uploads, pricing updates, metafields, content changes, theme updates, and troubleshoot store issues (product updates, checkout flow, theme tweaks, app conflicts, metafields, order tags, automations).

● Looking for a senior candidate who can confidently manage larger projects in Shopify autonomously, including tasks such as adding brands, building out collection pages, and really owning and driving Shopify projects without constant oversight.

● Coordinate the production of SEO optimised product descriptions with our Copywriter.

● Oversee monthly price specials, product launches, and seasonal campaigns.

● Optimise product imagery, videos, and marketing assets for presentation and performance.

● Implement promotions, discount codes, bundles, cross-sells, and upsells.

● Track daily sales; produce monthly performance reports with key metrics (conversion rate, CTR, bounce rate, top sellers, traffic sources).

● Build and optimise backend workflows using Flow (tags, fulfilment rules, tracking, triggers).

● Regularly audit the customer journey and site for bugs, broken links, and UX issues; liaise with developers for fixes. Be our go-to fixer for any e-commerce tech problems, no ticket too small or complex.

● Maintain and configure shipping platforms (Starshipit, Intuvitie, Big Post) and manage carrier rules, routing, and returns workflows.

● Manage Shopify app integrations (Klaviyo, Checkout Blocks) and troubleshoot issues.

● Build and refine backend automations, workflows, and fulfilment rules using Flow.

● Use analytics tools (GA4, Shopify, Ahrefs) to monitor performance trends and recommend UX, merchandising, and conversion optimisations.

● Document processes and create SOPs, system maps for ongoing use.

● Stay on top of ecommerce trends, platforms, and digital innovations with monthly updates to present to the team.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

● 3+ years of Shopify experience, with strong skills in store management, customisation, and optimisation.

● High attention to detail in product data accuracy and presentation.

● Experience with basic image editing (e.g., Canva, Photoshop).

● Strong organisational, problem-solving, and project management skills.

● Proficient in Google Sheets/Excel for reporting and analysis.

● Experience with Starshipit shipping logic, rules, and returns.

● Working knowledge of Flow, Klaviyo, Checkout Blocks, and Starshipit e-commerce apps.

● Proven ability to own backend operations from setup to scalability.

● Commercial mindset and data-driven approach to digital performance.

Nice to Have:

● HTML/CSS or Liquid knowledge for light theme edits.

● Experience with GA4, Shopify analytics, and ecommerce KPIs.

● Familiarity with CRO tools and techniques.

● Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana).

Opportunities for Growth:

● Lead ecommerce operations at a senior level.

● Contribute to strategic planning, campaign development, and CRO.

● Influence site architecture and the digital roadmap.

● Play a key role in scaling both B2C and B2B ecommerce channels.

Work Arrangement & Expectations:

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.

To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:

- Be available for meetings and collaboration during core [AEST or PHT] business hours

- Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work

- Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”)
