About the Role

This is a long term fixed term part time position at 30.4 hours per fortnight (job share considered) within the HOPE team within the Mental Health Department. You will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and delivering a structured, evidence-based therapeutic group program for children and their parents/carers seen through the HOPE program.

Classification for this position would depend on candidate's experience and qualifications based on their discipline, and will range from Grade 2 to Grade 4.

- Senior Groups Coordinator - Grade 3 Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, Social Worker, Speech Pathologist or Grade 4 Registered Psychiatric Nurse
- or Groups Coordinator - Grade 2 Occupational Therapist, Psychologist, Social Worker, Speech Pathologist or Grade 3 Registered Psychiatric Nurse

What you’ll achieve:

Successfully lead and co-facilitate groups, demonstrating advanced skills in managing group dynamics and responding effectively to behavioural or emotional crises.

Deliver structured, evidence-based therapeutic group programs for children and their parents/carers that are well-designed, coordinated, and impactful.

Your skills and experience

- Tertiary Qualification or equivalent in relevant discipline
- Current Registration as an Occupational Therapist, Psychologist or Registered Nurse with the applicable Health Practitioner Board or a qualified Social Worker or Speech Pathologist.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in working in true partnership with other community mental health teams and community/family welfare agencies to plan and implement effective interventions for children and young people experiencing complex mental health problems
