Lead .Net Developer – 8-Week Contract (with strong extension potential)

We’re looking for an experienced .NET Lead to join a large government department for an initial 2 month engagement. This is a hands‑on leadership role, providing technical direction, solution design, and oversight on a critical application project.

What you’ll be doing:

- Reviewing, prioritising, and estimating items in the issue backlog

- Providing technical oversight and guidance for development activities

- Keeping developers aligned and focused on project goals

- Holding external vendors accountable for the quality of deliverables

- Producing solution design documentation (Level 0 and Level 1)

- Delivering clear and detailed ‘As Built’ documentation

Skills & Experience:

- Strong background in C# .NET, PowerShell, and SQL Server queries

- Ability to scope, estimate, and prioritise technical work effectively

- Proven experience producing solution designs and technical documentation

- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage both developers and vendors

- Experience with applications exchanging data via CSV files and SFTP

- React, Microservices, Azure Cloud

This role is suited to someone who enjoys both hands‑on problem solving and technical leadership—ensuring development stays on track, issues are resolved, and solutions are delivered to a high standard.
