Our Vinnies shops are a well-established and much-loved part ofthe Aussie retail landscape. Aside from being an op-shop mecca for fans of allthings quality and thrift, the shops generate revenue for our broad range ofservices supporting the community. They may also be a first point of contactfor people seeking emergency assistance.

As a retail volunteer, you will play a central role in the operations of the shop, making a significant and valuable contribution to the St Vincent de Paul Society.

The Volunteer Role

The Retail Volunteer will perform a variety of tasks including:

- Providing customers with an excellent shopping experience;
- Sorting and pricing donations;
- Assisting with product display;
- Processing sales through the Point of Sale (POS) cash register; and
- Keeping the store and sorting area tidy, whilst maintaining safe work practices.

We are looking for volunteers who will ideally be:

- Be a people person – welcoming, encouraging and positive;
- Be willing to work within the ethos of the St Vincent de Paul Society;
- Be respectful of others and flexible in their attitude to work and the team; and
- Have good time management and use initiative to get the job done.

No experience needed as in-store coaching and training is provided. We welcome those with previous retail or hospitality backgrounds to share their experience with their fellow volunteers in the shop.
