Student Engagement and Wellbeing are seeking to establish a pool of Principal Consultant for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2025 and up to the end of February 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Statewide Services provides the services and supports required by schools to enable student achievement, with a focus on those students and schools that need it most. It encompasses both school and system-facing service delivery. While it primarily exists to support schools, it also has an important system-facing role supporting strategy and policy development. Professional Capability drives the ongoing development of our workforce. Its purpose is to build professional capability to improve student achievement by enabling teaching and leadership excellence.

The Role

As a Principal Consultant, you will provide high-level professional and strategic support to develop, implement, and coordinate projects, programs, and initiatives that enhance teaching and learning outcomes. Your expertise will contribute to the design and delivery of system-wide strategies, ensuring the alignment of policy, resources, and services to improve student outcomes. You will conduct research and analysis to inform policy development, prepare briefing materials and reports, and coordinate cross-divisional projects to support the Department of Education’s strategic priorities.

In this role, you will engage with senior management, staff, and external stakeholders to build and maintain strong networks across schools, regions, and the wider community. You will provide specialised advice and collaborate across teams to facilitate integrated service delivery, ensuring initiatives are responsive to current and emerging needs. Your ability to work in a culturally responsive and context-specific manner will be essential in driving meaningful outcomes and supporting continuous improvement in student engagement and wellbeing.
