Role: Permanent

Salary: £55,000 - £110,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

The Role

Join a thriving service in this rewarding role, where you’ll provide critical assessments for families and adults as part of the Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team. Focusing on children referred via HSE / NHS Patient Choice and GP pathways for autism and/or ADHD assessments, this position offers flexibility with hybrid working options. For hybrid roles, travel to the Newcastle office is required.

- Performing specialist diagnostic assessments for autism and/or ADHD using established tools, with occasional mental health assessments as needed.

- Preparing detailed, professional assessment reports with actionable recommendations and interventions in a timely manner.

- Collaborating within a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional outcomes.

- Supervising and mentoring junior staff (based on experience).

Assessments are primarily conducted on behalf of HSE/NHS via GP referrals, with some tasks manageable remotely, offering flexibility and work-life balance.

Qualifications & Skills

- HCPC-registered Practitioner Psychologist.

- Relevant degree in Psychology.

- Eligible to work in the UK.

- Demonstrated experience conducting diagnostic neurodevelopmental or specialist developmental assessments with children and young people.

- Clinical experience supporting children and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders or mental health difficulties.

- In-depth knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and appropriate assessment tools for autism and ADHD.

- Proficiency in differential diagnosis.

- Ideally trained in ADOS-2 and/or ADI-R

- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with strong report-writing and record-keeping abilities.

- A collaborative team player comfortable in a multidisciplinary setting.

- Additional qualifications in autism, ADHD, or related fields are highly desirable.
