Responsibilities
- Coordinate with site teams to ensure timely delivery of photovoltaic plant projects while supporting individual objectives across departments.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive project budgets and forecasts, ensuring all financial data is up-to-date and accurately reflects project progress.
- Conduct detailed monthly analyses of cost allocations, actuals, accruals, and provide insightful variance analysis between budgeted figures and forecasts.
- Monitor potential financial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle, providing recommendations for mitigation or enhancement as appropriate.
- Update cash flow forecasts regularly to reflect current project status and anticipated future movements.
- Review project coding structures and recommend amendments to optimise reporting accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain close contact with contract administrators to ensure contract data is accurately reflected in cost control systems, assisting with efficient project administration.
- Prepare and submit monthly client progress claims in line with contractual requirements, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Support Project Managers by assisting with subcontractor progress claims documentation and other related activities within the scope of the role.
- Contribute actively to the continuous improvement of internal systems and work practices by identifying areas for enhancement based on experience and feedback.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business or Finance is required; postgraduate studies in a relevant field are highly desirable for this position.
- Professional qualifications such as CA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent would be considered advantageous when applying for this role.
- A minimum of five years’ experience in a similar cost controlling capacity within the construction or engineering sector is essential for success.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing cost control systems throughout the entire project lifecycle is expected from applicants.
- Proficiency using ERP systems (such as SAP), along with intermediate skills in Excel and user-level familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, and JIRA are important assets.
- Advanced English language skills are necessary due to regular interaction with diverse stakeholders across multiple functions.
- Experience preparing month-end journals, processing expenses efficiently, and supporting both client-facing progress claims as well as subcontractor documentation is required.
- Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration with subcontractors, clients, suppliers, construction teams, and internal colleagues are vital for this role.
- A proven track record of contributing positively to system improvements and work practice enhancements within previous roles is highly valued by our client.
