Senior SOE and Application Packaging Engineer

The Bureau of Meteorology is seeking a qualified Senior SOE and Application Packaging Engineer to provide support to its nationwide footprint based at the Bureau's Melbourne location. The successful applicant will be a key member of the Service & Infrastructure Management – End User Services (EUS) section within the Data and Digital group and will manage day-to-day operations with minimal direction and engage in project work when it arises. You will have a key focus on ensuring an exceptional customer experience along with contributing to make the Bureau more productive, collaborative, and innovative.

Responsibilities

- Provide day-to-day ICT service support including auditing, configuration, and maintenance of software, hardware, and associated peripherals within supported ICT operating environments namely Windows, Linux, and MacOS.
- Provide advice, recommendations and reports on ICT matters pertaining to corporate and operational support related to the flow of meteorological information.
- Take ownership and continuously improve end-user activities end to end, enabling staff a modernised end-user experience.
- Maintain a calm, assertive demeanour to ensure accountability and unblock blockers; interact with internal colleagues (including senior leaders) and external customers including vendors.
- ITIL certification and participation in the development, implementation, and continuous service improvements.
- Hold a Baseline security clearance, upgrading to Negative Vetting Level 1 (required for this role).
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills to liaise with internal teams, management, customers and vendors.
- Be available for an on-call roster basis (penalties may apply).

Requirements

- Baseline security clearance with upgrade to Negative Vetting Level 1.
- ITIL certification.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work with Windows, Linux, and MacOS environments.

Remuneration and Location

- $115,443 - $125,832 per annum + 15.4% super
- Melbourne
