Position for a Motor Mechanic
Tyre Team International Pty Ltd

A company based in the southeast of Melbourne is looking for a qualified and suitable Motor Mechanic for immediate recruitment.

Description of the Position to be filled:

- Undertake motor vehicle services, carry out repairs of engines, transmission, suspension systems, and undertake electronic diagnostics in an efficient and professional manner.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Perform tyre changing, wheel alignment, and wheel balance
- Discuss problems with car owners to discover faults, listen to engines, and operate special test equipment and test drive vehicles to ascertain faults
- Determine cause & effect of identified problems and determine the best course of action
- Repair and replace worn and faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines, transmission, differentials, or steering gear, etc.
- Reassemble, test, clean, and adjust repaired or replaced parts or assemblies
- Use proper tools to ensure they are working properly and put them back into the vehicle.
- Perform preventive maintenance such as checking fluid levels, brake systems, steering, generating ignition, and electrical wiring systems.
- Tune engines using special electronic equipment and make fine adjustments.
- Diagnose, repair, and replace engine management/fuel injection components.
- Use electronic test equipment to locate and correct malfunctions in lighting, instrumentation, electronic fuel injection, ignition, and emissions control systems.
- Perform administrative tasks such as completion of vehicle details on Job Sheets and ensure all purchase invoices are properly attached with the Job Sheets
- Maintain proper and safe keeping of all tools and equipment and ensure hazardous substances are disposed of appropriately
- Follow occupational health and safety practices.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience required:

- Certificate IV in Motor Mechanism from a recognized institute in Australia.
- Valid driving license
- Communication skills
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in the same industry
- Ability to carry out tasks with a “can-do” attitude and positivity is highly desirable

Remuneration and Facilities:

- Annual Gross Salary package of AUD 75,000-80,000 plus Super awaits the right candidate.
- Growth and exposure with all types and models of motor vehicles
- Access to technical databases maintained by the industry body, main suppliers, etc.
- Job Type – Full-time (Monday-Friday) & Half Day on Saturday
