Human Resource Manager

Transdev in Brisbane, CA is hiring a Human Resources Manager. The role supports the management team with full‑cycle recruiting and other HR responsibilities. We seek customer service‑oriented professionals dedicated to safety.

Compensation and Benefits

- Competitive compensation package: minimum $91,000 – maximum $113,000
- Vacation: minimum two weeks
- Sick days: five days
- Holidays: 12 days – 8 standard and 4 floating
- 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental and vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, voluntary long‑term disability

Key Responsibilities

- Strategic partnership with operating management on day‑to‑day operational activities and HR policy development
- Administer policy interpretation and compliance, employee relations, and union initiatives
- Develop employee handbooks with cost‑competitiveness and consistency in handbooks
- Support business needs with HIPAA/PHI, SOC2 audits, hiring, employee engagement and a safe, respectful and fair work environment
- Maintain employee handbooks, recognition programs, employee files and other HR files
- Proactive employee relations strategies for union and non‑union personnel, improving dispute resolution
- Recommend and implement employee relations best practices
- Advise branch managers on employee relations matters, discipline, handbook interpretation and laboratory code, human rights and statutory obligations
- Keep updated on HR trends, practices, and legislation affecting employment programs and policies
- Direct and oversee all payroll functions, accounts payable and fare collections
- Coordinate employment processes including pension, union dues, unemployment, work comp, disability and leave requests

Qualifications

- Five or more years of direct experience managing HR and labor relations in a public transit service
- Experience administering a collective agreement
- Experience with recruitment and terminations
- Experience with benefits and compensation
- Experience administering employee files
- Serves as labor relations specialist responsible for education, training and outreach to employees
- Other relevant Human Resources qualifications
- Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40

Physical Requirements

Must work shifts or flexible schedules as needed. The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing or looking at a computer screen. Work environment combines indoors and outdoors.
