The Role
An exciting opportunity has opened for a talented Associate or Senior Associate (4–6 years’ PQE) to join our Workplace Relations, Employment & Safety team in Melbourne.
You’ll work closely with two highly regarded partners who are recognised leaders in the employment law space. The team handles a wide variety of matters, including high-stakes litigation, strategic advisory work, and compliance projects for major clients across diverse industries.
Your work will include:
- Drafting, reviewing, and advising on employment contracts, policies, and procedures;
- Advising on complex industrial relations and enterprise bargaining negotiations;
- Providing strategic advice on workplace issues such as performance management, grievances, and terminations;
- Interpreting legislation including the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) and associated regulations;
- Running and supporting litigation matters involving unfair dismissal, general protections, and contractual disputes; and
- Mentoring and supporting junior lawyers and graduates within the team
Who We Are Looking For
We’re seeking a lawyer with:
- 4–6 years’ post-admission experience in employment law practice (private practice or in-house);
- A strong understanding of employment legislation and industrial relations frameworks;
- Experience acting in all major courts
- Excellent drafting and communication skills;
- The ability to work closely and build strong relationships with clients and team members;
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to juggle competing priorities.
