About This Opportunity
We are looking for a dynamic Senior Engagement Officer to lead the delivery of high-impact programs and events focused on enhancing student employability.
In this exciting role, you will take charge of developing and executing student engagement initiatives, while also driving communications, marketing campaigns, and promotional strategies. From creating standout events to crafting compelling content, you will support creating awareness, build connections, and boost student participation across the board.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Engagement Programs and Events: lead the planning and delivery of EAIT Employability's student programs and events, including the extracurricular employability and Industry Mentoring programs. Work with internal teams and industry partners, the role drives student engagement, coordinate strategic events, and support key relationships to enhance student employability.
- Engagement and Communication: create marketing content, manage website updates, and coordinate communications to support EAIT Employability programs, ensuring alignment with UQ branding and priorities.
- Information Management: collect and manage data on engagement activities, support of end-of-year reporting, and monitor program effectiveness to inform ongoing improvements.
- Systems and Processes: contribute to the continuous improvement of team systems and processes by identifying opportunities for increased efficiency, effectiveness, and student experience.

Faculty of EAIT Employability Team
The Employability Team is the Faculty's gateway for industry engagement with students. The team identifies and facilitates placement opportunities for all EAIT students and enhances the student experience and employability outcomes through the provision of a student employability program. This program fits within the broader University of Queensland's Student Employability Strategy and Employability Framework.
About You
- Degree qualifications in business, marketing, events, communications, or a related field with relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven experience coordinating engagement programs and events, including planning, stakeholder engagement, and on-the-ground delivery, preferably in a higher education or similar setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience creating and delivering marketing collateral and digital content across various platforms—such as websites, EDMs, social media, and presentations—while adhering to branding and engagement strategies.
- Skilled in managing formal communications and compiling accurate, timely reports and documents using data from multiple sources.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines, including occasional after-hours work.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, is highly regarded.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check, etc.
