The Firm & The Role

Our client is a well-respected full commercial law firm and bona-fide leaders in the insurance space. They are looking to recruit a talented and enthusiastic insurance lawyer with around 2 to 6 years pae. Pre-admission experience will be highly regarded.

Our client acts for major insurers and self-insureds.

The focus of the role will be workers compensation matter and work injury matters but there will also be general liability matters, common law matters, policy advice and interpretation, advising on risk management, catastrophic claims.

On a day to day basis you will have client contract, draft client reports, draft advices on liability, attend conciliation conferences & mediations, go to court, brief counsel, draft submissions.

The matters will be interesting, challenging and of high value. You will have partner access and the other senior members of the team are there for support and enjoy mentoring.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

- Around 2 to 6 years pae in the area of insurance litigation and/or personal injury law (pre-admission experience in insurance/personal injury law will be looked upon favourably)
- Open to plaintiff or defendant experience
- Our client is open to foreign qualified lawyers who are on a working holiday and will be able to sponsor
- Strong writing skills and verbal communication skills
- Solid litigation skills
- Highly developed organisation skills
- Ability to work under pressure and juggle competing deadlines
- Enthusiasm and a 'can do' attitude
