Details: We are looking for a Senior Carpenter to join our Trades team at ICBR in our Delivery – Places and Spaces professional Trades team. Our Trades team provides maintenance services for ACT Government owned or managed buildings. This role has key responsibilities: using your trade expertise to diagnose and fix problems in buildings, recommend improvements and ensure that buildings meet the needs of the ACT Government and building users; proving technical expertise and leadership advise to our Carpentry team. This role is based primarily in the field working to deliver works as directed and reporting on progress and completion of jobs. We want people in the team that are highly experienced in their trade, deliver high quality work and provide good customer service.
Property Service Operations and Housing provides expert property management and maintenance services to the ACT Government and the community. The Group manages and maintains buildings and property that enable the ACT Government to meet Government and community services needs. The Group supports the ACT Government's delivery of its services through flexible, efficient and cost effective accommodation solutions and property services. Community services and support are also enabled through the provision of properties to community organisations at affordable rental rates. Property Service Operations and Housing operates on a fee for service basis with a requirement to provide a dividend to government.

Eligibility/Other Requirements: This position requires the following:
- Professional/Trade qualifications in the named trade speciality and building maintenance experience in a relevant function.
- Hold or have the capacity to obtain licenses under Construction Occupations (Licensing) Act 2004.
- Hold or have the capacity to obtain White Card, Asbestos Awareness and Working with Asbestos Cards, and any relevant Certificates such as TMV, working at heights, confined space, forklift.
- Qualification/s in Security, Property/Facilities Management, Project Management, Work Health and Safety are desirable.
Notes: Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
This position is based in an activity-based working (ABW) environment. Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
