About the Role:

As a Document Controller at Sydney Water, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of project documentation within the Infrastructure Delivery group. You’ll manage the storage, retrieval, and organization of engineering drawings and documents, ensuring they meet the highest standards. Whether you’re implementing systems, providing training on them, managing workflows, or ensuring quality control, you’ll take full ownership of document control for a key area of the business, allowing the team to rely on your expertise. Your contributions will help bring Sydney’s vital water infrastructure projects to life.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide direct document control support to project teams, ensuring that procedures are followed and best practices are shared.
- Manage the quality assurance and distribution of reports, drawings, technical memos, and specifications across projects.
- Setup project metadata and classifications for controlled documents and drawings, ensuring compliance with Sydney Water’s standards.
- Assist in maintaining document management systems, updating registers, and ensuring that files are easily accessible for teams.
- Monitor and assist in the electronic workflow review process, helping to streamline document flow and improve system efficiency.

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:

- A tertiary qualification in business, administration, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience in document control, with a strong focus on large‑scale construction or infrastructure projects, with the ability to establish and implement systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, SharePoint) and document management systems (such as InEight, Teambinder, Meridian EDMS, Delivery portal or similar).
- Exceptional communication skills, able to educate and train teams on document control best practices and processes.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, ensuring the integrity of documentation across multiple projects.
- Ability to work independently while managing a high volume of documents, staying adaptable to meet the needs of a fast‑paced environment.
