We are purpose driven and collaborative, which drives innovation and our ability to make a real impact. As such, we’re proud to have been named in Australia’s “Top 5” Best Workplaces two years in a row, as well as being recognised as a Best Workplace for Women.
Where the team fits in
The Enterprise Applications Team fits within our Global Technology Group, supporting and empowering our people with the best technology to get the job done. It’s our ambition to become the #1 Tech Company. This hands‑on role has been created to deliver and improve configured SaaS platforms, tools, automation and workflows to empower our REA staff to win.
What the role is all about
- Platform owner of (and responsible for) overseeing the configuration, support, maintenance, and improvement of a portfolio of key REA wide enterprise systems – like Confluence, Jira Product Discovery, Loom and Jira (including Jira Service Management) and Google Workspace as your initial and primary work focuses. Other systems may be added to your portfolio in the future as per business needs.
- Accountable for the delivery of the roadmap for the products under your custodianship
- Training our world class Experience Frontline L1 and L2 support teams in the ongoing administration of these and other connected systems.
- Collaborating with:
- internal stakeholders in the business such as Procurement, Risk and security teams
- your peers in Infrastructure, Enterprise Security and User Experience teams (this will drive your success and make your role easier as you lean on staff with years of experience working with REA)
- Developing acceptance tests and coordinating user acceptance testing of new IT systems and products to ensure the overall efficiency, functionality, and user friendliness.
- Creating self-help documentation for self-learning as well as providing training and assistance to both our support specialists and of course end users following implementation. All this will enable you to have others drive the success of the platforms internally.
- Using analytical skills to support resolution of system issues.
- Contributing to the REA knowledge base through blog posts, brown‑bags sessions and coaching less experienced members of the team.
Who we’re looking for
- A few runs on the board – you will likely have 5+ years of experience working with a focused project environment and in / with an IT operations team.
- Experience driving user adoption and administrating SaaS tools – our suite of platforms includes a suite of AI tools, everything Atlassian and Microsoft. Glean, Miro, Slack and Zoom
- Exposure to Office 365, Jira Service Management (or similar) and other SaaS tools is also highly desirable. (System admin training will also be provided to help you bridge any knowledge gaps).
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science (or similar) is highly desirable
- Can successfully engage with business to champion the Return on Investment (ROI) of great IT solutions.
- Looks at tricky situations through a solutions‑focused lens, with the ability to break down complex problems into understandable pieces for the team.
- Capacity to operate both independently, using initiative and self‑direction, and as a team member to produce consistently high quality work.
- Work proactively and productively in fast paced, agile & ITIL environments
- Understanding of domain modelling, how to separate system responsibilities, and communication across bounded contexts.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills that can be tailored to a range of technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Pragmatism and flexibility, able to adapt when priorities change, balancing quality with timely delivery.
- Experience supporting the resolution of critical operational incidents.
- Experience writing technical documentation and/or contributed to open‑source projects or shared knowledge through guilds or similar forums.
The REA experience
The physical, mental, emotional and financial health of our people is something we’ll never stop caring about. This is a place to learn and grow.
- A hybrid and flexible approach to working
- Flexible leave options including, birthday leave and purchase additional leave
- Flexible parental leave offering for primary and secondary carers
- Our Because We Care program offers employees volunteering leave, community grants, matched payroll giving and our Community Café donates 100% of revenue to charity
- Hackdays so you can bring your big ideas to life
Our commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
We are committed to providing a working environment that embraces and values diversity, equity and inclusion. We believe teams with diverse ideas and experiences are more creative, more effective and fuel disruptive thinking. If you've got the skills, dedication and enthusiasm to learn but don't necessarily meet every single point on the job description, please still get in touch.
Like a lot of companies, we have perps out there who like to ‘phish’ and have had a few recent instances of people pretending to be from REA and making offers of employment, on the condition that they transfer money for security checks.
