Overview

SBS is recruiting a managing editor for SBS World News, to be based in Sydney. The managing editor will be in charge of the show’s entire editorial team including staff based in Canberra and Melbourne, overseeing the production of the daily news bulletins, including content based on the Indigenous community.

Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the editorial team across multiple locations (Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne) and oversee daily news bulletins.
- Ensure multi-platform content production and editorial management.
- Identify potential news stories and apply media laws to process them.
- Oversee coverage that includes Indigenous community content.

Qualifications

- Experienced journalist with proven competency in multi-platform content production.
- Strong editorial leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of media laws and ethical standards relevant to news production.
