Join the Community, Mental Health and Wellbeing Budget and Finance team as a Business Analyst and provide strategic business support.
The Team:
The Community, Mental Health and Wellbeing Budget and Finance team focuses on professionalism, learning and continuous professional development. The team works closely with the business units in Community, Mental Health and Wellbeing provides strategic business support in line with the strategic priorities and the Department/'s CARE values.
The Role:
This is a finance business analyst role. In conjunction with the relevant Manager and other members of the Budget and Finance team:
- Assist with the development and allocation of budgets; provide advice and assistance to senior management through the budget cycle; and monitor and report on financial performance throughout the financial year.
- Assist with the preparation and reconciliation of returns required to ensure compliance with the Agency’s taxation obligations.
- Support the senior members of the Budget and Finance team to identify improvements in resource management within the Department of Health (the Agency), including investigation, analysis and monitoring of strategies for improving budget control, achieving budget outcomes, and taxation and superannuation compliance.
- Provide advice, analysis and research in relation to budget, financial management, taxation and financial reporting processes of the Agency
You will need:
- Under the direction of the relevant Budget and Finance Manager, provide advice to the Chief Financial Officer and other staff in relation to the development, monitoring and reporting of the Agency’s budget and tax obligations and related issues.
- Undertake projects to review Business Unit budget allocations and other research and analysis in relation to taxation, superannuation and budgetary matters, including identification of strategies to improve efficiency, compliance processes and streamline business processes within the Agency.
- In relation to Commonwealth and State superannuation and taxation legislation that applies to the Agency, assist with the production of timely, and accurate and compliant: • Taxation returns • Remittance of taxes • Completion of associated reconciliations.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary:$98,255 to $103,069 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
