About the role

As a valued member of our laboratory team, you will apply your scientific and technical expertise to perform a variety of diagnostic and transfusion-related procedures that support safe and effective patient care. Your work will involve testing and verifying pre-transfusion specimens, conducting antenatal serology and antibody investigations, managing the dispatch of blood and blood products, and validating quality control results to ensure the highest laboratory standards are maintained.

Working on a 24/7 roster, you’ll play a key role in maintaining essential 24-hour service delivery. With guidance and supervision, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to the development, selection, and implementation of new techniques and methodologies, while participating in planning, analysis, and reporting processes that support continuous improvement and innovation in diagnostic services.

About you

You’re a dedicated and detail-oriented laboratory professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality diagnostic services. You take pride in your technical expertise, accuracy, and ability to support safe and efficient patient care.

- Qualified with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) or equivalent.

- Skilled in performing diagnostic testing, troubleshooting equipment, and following laboratory quality procedures.

- A proactive team player with strong communication skills and the ability to prioritise tasks to meet daily workload targets.

- Experienced in using analytical laboratory equipment and software applications, with a focus on accuracy, reliability, and continuous improvement.
