This is a casual role to support Certis with Cargo Screening Operations across several sites.
The position requires the officer to perform Cargo Screening on freight by following the relevant SOP’s and using the screening equipment provided.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and interpret X-Ray images and detection equipment
Conduct physical inspections and searches of cargo
Maintain accurate screening records and documentation
Configure and correctly use screening equipment
Report and escalate safety or security incidents
Deliver excellent customer service during all interactions
- Shift ranging from 4 to 12 hours
Qualification
Mandatory:
Valid Security Licence
Driver Licence
Experience with X-Ray and ETD screening equipment
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Comfortable with flexible 24/7 rotating rosters
All successful candidates will receive:
FREE Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (AVI20118) – fully funded by Certis (RTO ID 45583)
FREE uniform and onsite parking
Minimum 40 hours of On-the-Job Training
To progress into a permanent role, you must successfully complete all training components and be deemed competent in making independent screening decisions.

In the event a candidate fails to meet the inherent requirements of the role then Certis will be unable to employ them, or, if they have already been employed, their employment will be terminated.

- Knowledge of Cargo Screening Equipment and use
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements for screening of goods
- Knowledge of Screening levels and contingencies
Experience
- At least 1 year screening
- 1 year in similar role
