One of Melbourne's increasingly growing steel companies has a requirement for welders to join their team to help with their upcoming busy workload. They do not require a trade qualified welder but do require candidates with the same skills and experience.
WELDERS NEEDED
Responsibilities
- Reading and understanding job specifications/drawings
- Cutting and grinding of mild steel
- MIG/TIG welding of mild steel per job specification
- On-site installation and fabrication
- General housekeeping of site
Ideal candidate / Qualifications
- Welding skills and related experience
- Previous experience within a steel fabrication environment
- Able to read drawings and ensure product conforms
- Experience with MIG is essential and TIG welding preferable
- Competent with hand and power tools
- Physically fit and reliable
- Rail Industry Card and White Card essential
- Ability to work autonomously
- PPE familiarity
- Have experience in general fabrication
- Available for overtime as required
Hourly Pay Rate
- $30.00 - $35.00 p/h dependent on skill set
Additional notes
Travel allowance will apply for on-site work. Drug screening/medical checks may be essential before starting with company. Your own steel capped boots, PPE, hard hat may be required. A standard weld test in the factory before commencing work will be required.
