Waverley Christian College is a forward thinking and culturally diverse Christian co-educational school from Kinder to Year 12. We have been providing students with a quality Christian educational experience for over 45 years. With campuses in Wantirna South and Narre Warren South, Waverley Christian College has an enrolment of over 2400 students with 400 staff across both campuses in 2025.

The Narre Warren South Campus is seeking a part-time (FTE 0.558) Learning Support Teacher (SPARC) to commence in April 2025. This role is approx. 21 hours per week spread across 3 days.

Our Support Program of Applied Readiness for Community (SPARC) program sits within our Learning Enhancement and Program Support (LEAPS) department. The SPARC program is an individualised program designed for students who have significant social and academic challenges within the mainstream classroom. The SPARC program provides tailored support for students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they are equipped for academic success, social development, and life in the wider community. As a Learning Support Teacher (SPARC), you will work closely with the Director of Learning Support and the LEAPS Coordinator to provide targeted, individualised educational support for students with diverse learning needs. As a member of our Learning Support team, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact in the lives of students and their families, while growing professionally in a supportive and collaborative environment.

The successful applicant must:

1. Be a qualified teacher and hold a current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) with a strong understanding of special education needs and experience working with students with diverse learning profiles.
2. Be experienced in writing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and conducting assessments.
3. Have high level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with parents, staff, and external professionals.
4. Have current First Aid qualifications and Anaphylaxis Certificate or be willing to obtain these prior to commencement.
5. Be able to show a commitment to the values and ethos of Christian education.
6. Be willing to get involved in all aspects of the College’s programs and opportunities.
