Position Information

Newport Public School, established in 1888 is located on Sydney’s Northern Beaches between Pittwater and the ocean. We offer a welcoming and inclusive environment for 560 students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Specific Selection Criteria

- Approval to teach special education and/or experience, skills and knowledge to teach students with complex needs, including autism, intellectual disabilities, physical disabilities, emotional disturbance and trauma.

- Demonstrated ability to collaboratively develop, maintain and review Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Support Plans with the capacity to use data to deliver differentiated literacy, numeracy and wellbeing programs.

- Proven ability to work in partnership with staff, students, families, and external support teams, demonstrating highly developed interpersonal and communication skills that foster a culture of inclusivity and proactive collaboration.

- Knowledge and practice in supporting the learning, cultural identity and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
