We help people with their banking, super, retirement and finances. Every day, we help peoplesee and make more of their financial potential,so that they can create their tomorrow. And we’ve been doing it for over 170 years.

The Platform business unit at AMP is responsible for delivering market-leading investment administration and technology solutions to financial advisers, wealth managers and their clients. Platforms are integrated systems that allow advisers and investors to manage a wide range of investment products and superannuation accounts in one convenient place.
AMP’s North platform is designed to simplify the investment journey by providing intuitive digital experiences, robust risk management and regulatory compliance. The Platforms business unit is experiencing an exciting period of growth and is central to AMP’s purpose of helping people invest in their future and retire with confidence.
Purpose of the role
The role involves the provision of legal advice to AMP’s Platform business, primarily in matters relating to the ongoing operation and management of superannuation wrap products, IDPS and IDPS-like products, managed investment schemes, managed portfolios and the distribution of these products to retail customers (primarily through advisers).
This includes product development initiatives, other strategic initiatives, marketing and distribution, regulation, offer documents, supporting Boards, advice on errors and incidents, platform development initiatives and rationalisation of legacy product offerings
How will you make an impact
- Provide advice on legal and regulatory matters for AMP’s super and non-super wrap platforms, including product development, platform structures and investment offerings.
- Review regulated documents (e.g., PDSs, IDPS Guides, TMDs), marketing materials and client communications.
- Provide legal input on operational issues, platform systems and financial services regulatory changes.
- Manage legal risks, incidents, regulatory notifications and oversee external legal counsel as needed.
- Provide advice relating to identified errors and incidents, including notifications to ASIC, APRA, OAIC, AUSTRAC and investor remediation
- Manage the potential conflicts of interest within AMP’s business and ensuring appropriate consideration/advice is given as conflicts arise (such as ensuring separate legal representation is obtained for different AMP entities if necessary)
- Provide advice and support to Boards.
What you will bring to the role
- Minimum 15 years’ post‑admission experience in financial services law
- Deep knowledge of superannuation and investment platform regulation
- Excellent stakeholder management and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
What we look for in you
You’re adaptable, commercially minded and confident navigating complexity. You bring sound judgement, a collaborative mindset and a commitment to doing the right thing. You’re proactive, commercially minded and thrive in a lean, agile environment.
You have excellent commercial acumen and the ability to balance legal risk with business outcomes. Your strategic thinking and ability to influence across senior stakeholders make you a trusted advisor in both day‑to‑day and high‑impact decisions.
You’re comfortable working across disciplines and can communicate complex legal concepts clearly to non‑legal audiences. You stay calm under pressure, make sound decisions quickly, and know when to elevate or seek external advice.
You’ll thrive here if…
If you can adapt from BAU to the ambiguous with ease, you’ll do well here. No day is the same and you’ll be exposed to a broad and interesting range of legal and regulatory matters.
You’ll be expected to jump in and deliver across a variety of areas and we encourage you to have autonomy over your practice. Meaning, you’ll be closer to the action and executive decisions that influence where we go next.
If you’re someone that can hold their own, you’ll find AMP quite liberating.
Why we think you’ll love working at AMP
Doing what we’ve always done is not an option, so your clever ideas will get airtime here. You’ll be encouraged to speak up and try new things. If they don’t work, we move on – better for it.
We know there’s no one way of doing things. So, you won’t have to sacrifice who you are or how you work to fit in here. We’re inclusive and flexible in many of the ways you’d expect. And in some of the ways you wouldn’t. As long as your health and wellbeing come first - at home and at work.
In fact, most of what makes AMP such a welcoming, enjoyable place to work are our people. Wherever you go, you’ll find moments to connect, feel valued and do meaningful work.
Whether it’s through our first‑class leaders who are invested in you and your success. Through year‑round opportunities to volunteer, fundraise and give back to the community. Or in the everyday challenges you face as we work together to strengthen this great organisation. Challenges that will stretch you, amplify your potential and compound the impact you have.
We believe in the power of inclusion and diversity
We’re dedicated to fostering inclusion, diversity, and a warm feeling of belonging at AMP. It sparks creativity, ignites innovation, and turns up the dial on the quality of our decisions and performance. This not only makes our workplace more engaged but also leads to better connections with our customers.
We're your allies in the search for the perfect fit - when you apply, let us know how we can support you to put your best self forward during our selection process.
We're also committed to enhancing employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, so we enthusiastically encourage candidates from these backgrounds to apply and explore our Reconciliation Action Plan on our website.
Ready to create your tomorrow?
If you’re someone who sees opportunity where others see challenge, come and work with us in smart, progressive ways as we transform an iconic Australian brand for the future. And, through a series of career‑defining moments, create your own tomorrow.
Don’t procrastinate We review applications when we get them, and if we discover the ideal candidate, we may close the role earlier than the advertised close date.
