To support our growth, Swyftx is searching for a Senior Product & Regulatory Counsel who will act as a trusted partner and advisor to the business. You will report directly to our Chief Legal Officer.

Swyftx’s Legal Team is committed to being a forward‑thinking and highly progressive in‑house legal team. In this role, you’ll bring energy, initiative, and strategic insight to a fast‑paced and evolving environment. You’ll be empowered to take ownership of matters and drive them forward, while remaining attuned to when escalation or collaboration is needed.

What you’ll do

- Provide strategic legal advice on Swyftx’s product offerings, marketing initiatives, and customer communications, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

- Advise on matters, including regulated credit and financial services regime, consumer protection, marketing, privacy, and cyber security.

- Monitor and interpret regulatory developments across financial services, credit, and digital assets, and communicate implications to internal stakeholders.

- Lead legal reviews of new product features and enhancements.

- Draft, negotiate, and review a wide range of commercial agreements, including technology, partnership, and vendor contracts.

- Support the development and implementation of governance, risk, and compliance frameworks, including internal policies and procedures.

- Support with disputes, incident management and reportable situations.

- Collaborate with external counsel and regulators as needed.

- Contribute to the continuous improvement of legal operations, including knowledge management, process automation, and scalable legal support.

About you

- 8+ years PQE, with substantial experience in regulated credit and financial services, gained in a top‑tier law firm and/or in‑house legal team.

- Strong knowledge of the regulatory landscape for Australian FinTechs, including AML/CTF, financial services and credit licensing, consumer protection, marketing, privacy and cyber security regimes.

- Understanding of corresponding areas in overseas jurisdictions (such as the UK and NZ) would be beneficial but is not essential.

- Experience or strong interest in digital assets and cryptocurrency regulation, including emerging frameworks in Australia and key overseas jurisdictions.

- Experience in funds management and markets highly valued.

- Proven ability to translate complex legal and regulatory concepts into clear, actionable advice for cross‑functional teams.

- Skilled in managing multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment, with a proactive and solutions‑oriented mindset.

- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and commercial nuance.

- Collaborative team player who thrives in a dynamic environment and contributes to shared problem‑solving and ideation within the Legal Team.

- Admitted to practice in Australia.
