Location: 30 Chasely Street, Auchenflower QLD 4066 (The Wesley Hospital)
Work type: Full Time, Permanent, 38 hours per week
Schedule: Expected to work weekdays with the ability to cover Saturday/Sunday and Public holiday shifts, as required

About The Role
We are seeking a multi‑skilled Scientist who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate, vibrant and engaged team who will be responsible for:
- Specimen receipt and processing
- Beckman Coulter AU680, XN1000, CA‑660, ABL90, Excyte MINI, TriageGrifols Eflexis and DG reader, Elecsys e411 and Aerospray
- Rapid PCR on the GeneXpert
- Performing seminal analysis
- Performing urine microscopy and other basic microscopy
- QC monitoring
- Participating in internal and external surveys
- Liaising between other departments and external customers (hospital staff)
About You
To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the essential requirements:
- Applicants must possess an AIMS accredited Laboratory Medical scientist degree with areas of study including Haematology, Biochemistry, Microbiology and Transfusion Science
- Demonstrated experience, knowledge, expertise and skills within the respective discipline
- Sound knowledge of QC, QAP and troubleshooting
- Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification
- Perform duties with a high degree of independence and with infrequent supervision
- An outstanding commitment to quality and excellence
- A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures
- A positive attitude toward achieving outcomes and being a cohesive, contributing team member
- Strong time management, interpersonal, communication and organisational skills
- The ability to manage and thrive in a busy environment
- Self‑initiative and problem‑solving capabilities
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- This role may require additional vaccination history and evidence for department specific vaccine preventative diseases
