About This Opportunity
QCGC Research, part of the UQ Centre for Clinical Research (UQCCR), is dedicated to advancing the care of women affected by gynaecological cancers. Our multidisciplinary team of clinicians, molecular scientists, implementation scientists, and research professionals works together to develop kinder, less invasive, and more effective diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
Building on the success of our international clinical trials program and ongoing research initiatives, we are now seeking a Senior Research Platform Fellow to help drive the next phase of our molecular research. In this role, you will use your expertise to empower emerging researchers, strengthen national and international collaborations, and contribute to innovative projects that reduce the burden of gynaecological cancer worldwide.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Research: Lead and deliver impactful molecular research in gynaecological cancer, integrating translational approaches, securing research funding, publishing in high-impact journals, and driving collaboration nationally and internationally.
- Supervision and Researcher Development: Develop and mentor researchers and students, fostering a high-performing, ethical, and supportive research culture through supervision, coaching, and professional development.
- Citizenship and Service: Contribute to leadership and engagement, representing QCGC Research, strengthening partnerships with industry and stakeholders, and enhancing the centre’s reputation and research impact.

About You
- Completion of a PhD in the health/medical related discipline.
- An established profile in research in the discipline of gynaecological cancer and translational research.
- Having worked in the area of gynaecological cancer trials for at least five years with an internationally developing profile of presenting at conferences.
- Proven track record in the design, conduct and publication of multi-centre national and international, investigator-initiated clinical trials (at least two trials).
- Extensive track record of securing and managing competitive research funding, including from philanthropic foundations (at least two NHMRC/MRFF grants as a Chief Investigator).
- Proven track record in building and leading international research consortiums and collaborations.
- Track record of supervision of multi-disciplinary HDR students, researchers, research assistants and visiting scholars. This includes clinicians, biostatisticians and scientists.
- A growing record of meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with a strong contribution to external activities
- Strong leadership, organisational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across disciplines and cultures.
- Proven ability to engage, communicate and build strong relationships with philanthropic donors which fosters long-term partnerships to support research initiatives.
- Engagement with patient advocacy and consumer involvement in research.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, education check and mandatory immunisations.
