About The Role
Due to sustained growth and exciting project wins, TSA Riley is looking for a Senior or Principal Systems Assurance Engineer to join our Systems Assurance team in NSW. We're a project consultancy with specialists at the cutting edge of systems and safety engineering, delivering expert advice across safety-critical and software-intensive environments — particularly in transport and defence.
In this role, you'll contribute to the assurance of complex systems that underpin vital infrastructure and national capability. Your focus will span systems safety, reliability, verification and validation, and independent assessment. You'll work closely with industry leaders across rail, defence, aerospace, and intelligent transport — with support to grow your influence and deepen your technical authority.
About You
You're a detail-driven and technically sharp engineer, ready to apply your 7+ years of post-grad experience in a client-facing, impact-oriented role. You might have a background in mechatronics, software, electrical, mechanical or systems engineering — and you're well-versed in the standards and frameworks that underpin safety and assurance in complex, software-based systems.
You Bring
- Deep knowledge of systems and safety engineering (or transferable high-integrity systems/dev experience) and/or reliability engineering
- Familiarity with key safety and reliability standards such as IEC 61508, IEC 61511, EN5012X, MIL-STD-882X or similar
- Excellent written and verbal communication — and the ability to explain complex concepts with clarity
- A proactive mindset, strong analytical thinking, and the confidence to work independently
We're also open to those with the right technical base and an appetite to cross-skill into systems assurance — we've got a strong track record of growing specialists internally.
Chartered status with Engineers Australia (or equivalent) is a bonus, but not essential.
