About the role

We have an opportunity for a Principal Project Manager to be part of our Project Management Office within the Technology and Communication Services Command. The Principal Project Manager leads and manages the risk, quality and progress of ICT projects to organisational standards, and ensures projects are completed on time, on budget, to quality standards, and within agreed scope.

NSW Police Force is looking for an experienced Principal Project Manager to lead delivery of the technology transformation streams. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to be part of a team modernising network and security platform services supporting police officers statewide, ensuring it meets the demand of contemporary law enforcement.

You’ll be accountable for the oversight, direction and end-to-end delivery of project streams within a major capital program that strengthens cybersecurity, supports critical services like triple zero, and enables key technology initiatives such as Integrated Connected Officer.

As a Principal Project Manager, you’ll play a vital role in leading and managing key projects of a multi-tranche program to modernise the NSW Police Force’s digital infrastructure. This includes the planning and delivery of critical, complex projects, management of project resources, contractual requirements, stakeholder engagement and the development of strategies and project plans, this role is instrumental in ensuring efficient project delivery.

The Key Project Streams in this critical work are:

- Next generation Network and Security Services
- Corporate telephony, emergency and non-emergency call centre capabilities

The Critical Network Program of work runs until June 2030. The principal project manager will have the opportunity to collaborate across multiple commands, gaining exposure to different challenges and solutions. This is a unique opportunity to lead business critical projects that directly support law enforcement, driving innovation, operational efficiency, and improved public safety.
