About the role:

Skills SA is responsible for leading the South Australian Government’s ambitious agenda for vocational education and training to meet the needs of industry and communities – for the benefit of all South Australians.

The Senior Strategy Officer will lead or support the development and management of long‑term systemic student support and wellbeing strategies. They will be responsible for monitoring and evaluation activities, undertaking research and development, direct stakeholder engagement, and providing high‑level project support.

Key Competencies:

- Demonstrated experience in providing senior project management services to implement, monitor and audit innovative strategies, including using sound evaluation techniques and processes.

- Proven high‑level research skills, proficiency in using qualitative and quantitative data to identify patterns and draw actionable insights with an ability to evaluate complex information, develop options, and communicate clear and accessible verbal and written recommendations to support strategy development.

- Demonstrated sensitive stakeholder engagement experience with the ability to develop accessible and engaging resources that communicate relevant and critical information appropriate to the needs of a broad range of audiences and stakeholders.

- Experience in using spreadsheets and data visualisation tools (such as PowerBI), to execute summary analysis and reporting along with experience in collecting, collating, cleaning and storing program level data and records.

Remuneration:

Competitive salary $98,478 min - $104,165 max p.a. plus superannuation.

Qualifications:

- Essential:Nil

- Desirable: A degree or equivalent or higher qualification in a field relevant to the role.

Special Conditions:

- The role will be offered full‑time (1.0 FTE), initial 24‑month term contract.

- Satisfactory Department of Human Services Criminal History Check or National Police Check (NPC) and Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) required prior to employment.
