About the Role

The Senior Project Officer is responsible for planning and coordinating the delivery of environmental projects and policy to improve water management outcomes. This role involves working collaboratively across teams to support the development and delivery of policies and projects that enable effective environmental water management for the River Murray in South Australia. This includes project management and reporting; collaborating with and between project teams; supporting program governance arrangements; and supporting stakeholder engagement activities.

Contract

Up to 31 December 2026

Desirable Qualifications

A tertiary qualification in science, natural resources management and/or project management is highly desirable.

Special Conditions

- May be required to participate in responses to state emergencies or associated duties.

- You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or provide evidence that you hold a valid working visa that allows you to work in Australia without restrictions.

- Prior to being employed, the successful applicant will be required to obtain a National Police Check.

- May be required to participate in fire management and associated duties.

- Current class “C” driver’s licence and willingness and ability to safely operate a 4WD is desirable.

- Relevant Project Management qualifications or equivalent experience

- Some out of hours work, inter and intra-state and remote travel involving overnight absences may be required.

Remuneration

ASO6 $98,478 min - $104,165 max p.a.
