Overview

The Electrical Technician will be responsible for installing, testing, maintaining, and repairing electrical and electronic systems used in automated cabinetry machinery, factory production lines, and related equipment. The role ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of electrical systems within the manufacturing facility.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Assist in the design, installation, and maintenance of electrical control and automation systems for manufacturing equipment.
- Diagnose, repair, and test faults in electrical circuits, control panels, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Calibrate, modify, and maintain instrumentation and control systems.
- Prepare, read, and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Carry out preventive maintenance and inspections to reduce downtime and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, production teams, and maintenance staff to improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure adherence to electrical codes, company policies, and WHS regulations.
- Document test results, maintenance logs, and electrical modifications.

Qualifications and Experience

- Certificate IV in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of automation systems, PLCs, and control equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical diagrams and perform precision diagnostics.
- Excellent problem-solving and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of Australian electrical safety standards and compliance requirements.

- Proficiency in fault-finding, circuit testing, and system integration.
- Strong attention to detail and safety focus.
- Good communication and documentation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
