▷ (15h Left) Power BI Developer - Defence Project

What you’ll be doing

Atturra is looking for a skilled Power BI Developer for a contract opportunity to work within our Data & Integration Business, delivering to our Atturra clients in Federal Government and Defence. The role is based in Canberra in our Defence office in Russell on a hybrid arrangement and requires an active AGSVA NV1 Clearance.

This contract will run until 30 June 2026 with an option for a further 12‑month extension.

Responsibilities

- Use Microsoft Power BI Desktop Client to author reports.

- Develop tabular models (SSAS Projects) using Microsoft Visual Studio with RDS.

- Use Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio to view database objects.

- Sync content using GIT tools to the Azure DevOps Repo.

- Provide information and request new DevOps release pipeline creation, folder and content related security setup, including RLS setup post‑deployment, and move/delete content on Power BI portals.

- Parameterise data source connections for SQL Direct query.

Technical Requirements

- 3+ years’ of relevant experience.

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.

- Advanced skills in Power BI, DAX, SQL and relational database design.

- Experience with cloud data warehouse solutions (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Azure, etc.).

- Familiarity with data ingestion tools such as SSIS & ADF.

- Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, GCP.

- Proficiency in data pipeline and workflow management tools.

- Strong project management, problem‑solving and organisational skills.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

- Ability to guide and oversee the selection and application of data engineering methodologies, tools and practices.
