As a Behaviour Support Practitioner at Aruma, you’ll play a vital role in improving the quality of life for people with disabilities by developing and implementing positive behaviour support plans. You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and work closely with individuals, families, and support networks to create meaningful outcomes that encourage independence, inclusion, and dignity.

Responsibilities

- Develop and deliver evidence-based behaviour support plans tailored to the individual needs of people with disabilities.
- Work closely with individuals, families, carers, and other professionals to ensure holistic, person-centred support.
- Provide training and guidance to support staff to ensure consistency in implementing behaviour support strategies.
- Regularly review and adjust plans based on progress and evolving needs.
- Advocate for the rights of individuals, ensuring they are treated with respect, kindness, and understanding.

About you

- You’re passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives.
- You have a background in psychology, social work, or a related field.
- You’re familiar with positive behaviour support frameworks and practices.
- You’re required to complete a self-assessment form and/or a practitioner declaration form; optional evidence may include relevant plans or documents demonstrating transferable skills.
- You’re compassionate, solution-focused, and thrive in a collaborative environment.
- You have experience working with individuals with complex behaviours and can stay calm in challenging situations.
- You have excellent communication skills and can work effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
