As our Investment Manager, you’ll take the lead in managing HBF’s investment portfolio, playing a critical role in shaping our investment strategy, balancing performance with purpose, and ensuring we deliver long‑term value. What You’ll Do You’ll be responsible for managing and optimising the HBF investment portfolio, ensuring performance aligns with our strategic, risk, and capital objectives. You’ll bring a strong commercial lens and an ability to translate complex investment insights into clear, actionable strategies. Here’s how you’ll make an impact - Lead the investment portfolio strategy: Develop, execute, and refine the overall investment strategy to achieve strong risk‑adjusted returns in line with the Board’s risk appetite. - Deliver strategic investment insights: Provide clear, data‑driven recommendations and portfolio updates to the Board Investment Committee, senior executives, and internal stakeholders to inform decision‑making. - Perform rigorous due diligence: Conduct comprehensive investment and operational due diligence across a range of strategies, asset classes, and investment managers. - Monitor and manage portfolio performance: Track performance against key metrics, benchmarks, and risk parameters, ensuring consistent delivery of results. - Collaborate across HBF: Partner with Finance, Actuarial, Strategy, and Risk teams to ensure investments support broader corporate objectives and regulatory obligations. About You You are curious, strategic, and thrive on connecting the dots between financial performance and purpose. You bring a mix of sharp analytical skills, sound judgment, and the confidence to influence decisions at the highest level. You know how to make sense of complex data, communicate insights clearly, and back your recommendations with evidence and conviction. You’re as comfortable building relationships with external partners and investment managers as you are diving deep into modelling and risk analysis. Throughout your previous experience within investment management, you have worked in an asset owner, fund manager, or advisory environment. You understand the importance of balancing strong returns with prudent risk management and have experience across multiple asset classes, from asset allocation to manager research or portfolio construction.
