About You

Are you a dynamic sales leader ready to make a real impact? Join Origin as aDirect Sales Manager and lead a high-performing team driving growth in the SME energy market. In this senior leadership role, you’ll be at the forefront of our Retail Business team—building strong customer relationships, developing acquisition strategies, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.

You’ll be responsible for managing a team of 5–12 sales consultants and account managers, driving sales performance, and executing strategies that grow our market share. If you’re commercially savvy, passionate about leadership, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this is your opportunity to shape the future of energy for small businesses.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, coach, and motivate a team of sales consultants and account managers to exceed performance targets.
- Develop and execute sales growth strategies and lead generation initiatives across multiple channels.
- Manage workforce planning and sales budgets to deliver revenue and margin targets.
- Analyse market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth.
- Collaborate across teams to optimise customer journeys and ensure seamless sales experiences.
- Provide sales reporting, set KPIs, and manage incentive programs to drive results.

Qualifications

- You’re a confident and strategic leader with a passion for driving sales and empowering teams. You thrive on solving problems, influencing stakeholders, and delivering measurable outcomes.
- Proven experience in direct sales and people leadership, ideally gained within the energy industry or aligned.
- Strong commercial acumen and understanding of customer segments.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage call centre operations.
- Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Tertiary qualifications in business, sales, or marketing (desirable).
