About the opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Principal Geologist to join the Geological Survey of South Australia within the Strategic Policy and Delivery Division. This position is currently part of a job share arrangement between (FTE 0.4) and Vacant (FTE 0.6). This recruitment process is to fill the FTE 0.6 vacancy, which will remain a job share until further notice.

Key Selection Criteria

Please only address the dotpoints listed below in your application:

- Specialist and authoritative professional and technical knowledge of petroleum exploration with experience as a senior explorationist in industry.

- Deep understanding of effective investment attraction strategies aimed at the global upstream energy resources exploration industry.

- Specialised knowledge of and high proficiency in using industry standard software including workstation mapping applications.

- Deep understanding of the upstream petroleum sector and its operations nationally and internationally.

Qualifications

Desirable: Relevant tertiary qualification in geoscience or related field.

Remuneration

PO5, $123,884 – $133,767 per annum (pro rata for FTE 0.6) + Superannuation. Part-time role, working 22.5 hours per week (0.6 FTE).

Special Conditions

- Out of hours work may be required.

- Intra-state, interstate and international travel may be required.
