About the business

Marmota Limited is an ASX-listed minerals exploration company yielding bonanza grades in multiple discoveries in its Gawler Gold package in South Australia. We are currently undertaking exploration activities at the Greenewood discovery that is yielding bonanza gold grades. Marmota runs a tight in-house exploration team. With the increase in our field exploration, we are now looking for additional motivated people for project work out in the field, namely:

·       Site geologist (casual) to manage the daily drilling.

·       Field assistant (casual) for fieldwork on drilling program.

About the roles

·       To assist in next round of drilling

·       Commencing in early to mid-November (may vary)

·       Duration: ~ 30 to 35 days (may vary)

·       South Australian gold projects

SITE GEOLOGIST RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key areas of responsibility for this position (including but are not limited to) the following:

· Pegging of drill holes (Trimble DGPS).

· Lining up drill rig on drill holes.

· Geological logging of RC chips.

· Monitoring sample collection by field assistant.

· Daily Reporting to Management.

FIELD ASSISTANT RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Field Assistant is there to ensure operations run smoothly and the geologist can focus on getting the best outcomes.

Key areas of responsibility for this position (including but are not limited to) the following:

· Maintenance of field equipment, vehicles, supplies and other services

· Establishment and support of field camps and other field operations.

· Participation in drilling sampling and other forms of geological sampling

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

It is envisaged that the successful candidates will possess the following qualifications, experience and skills:

· Practical experience of field exploration

· Experience in geological sampling

· Current 'C' Class driver's licence

· WD driving experience (training and certification in 4WD driving and off road driving highly desirable)

· Remote first aid and senior first aid certificates

· A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word

Salary

Indicative salary is dependent on experience, but typically:

Site geologist: up to $800 per day on site (incl super)

Field assistant: $500 per day on site (incl super)

All meals and accommodation provided (note that Greenewood is a remote site).
