This is a unique opportunity to influence and enable the strategic direction of actuarial and data science across the APAC region. You will work with a diverse range of markets and products as part of a talented team dedicated to delivering impactful actuarial and data science solutions that support business growth.
We are seeking an Assistant Director or Director to be part of our APAC Actuarial and Data Science team supporting the design, development and maintenance of solutions that enable critical Actuarial and Data Science capabilities. Examples of these capabilities include US GAAP, Statutory Reserving, Reporting, IFRS17 & Profitability Studies.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert on actuarial methodologies and engineering techniques, advising senior management and collaborating across functional teams to guide decision-making and lead development
- Develop and enhance strategic vision and roadmaps for solutions that enable APAC Retail and Commercial Lines across countries, driving continuous improvement in processes and delivery.
- Lead the creation of efficient, scalable solutions that accelerate speed to market while ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant technical standards.
- Champion customer-centric priorities, ensuring internal and external stakeholders benefit from actionable, high-quality data insights.
- Manage, mentor, and inspire a team focused on research and development of innovative actuarial solutions and analytics.
- Influence the strategic direction of actuarial initiatives across diverse APAC markets, products, and perspectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees (Actuarial Science, Statistics, Computer Science etc.) strongly preferred.
- Relevant insurance designations (ACAS/FCAS, AIAA/FIAA, AIA/AFA, FIA/FFA) desirable but not a requirement
- Strong actuarial and data engineering expertise, with hands-on experience in actuarial solution design, development and execution. Experience in IFRS17, Risk Based Capital, Reserving is desirable but not a requirement.
- Experience in coding for data management, data warehousing, or other data environments, including, but not limited to, working in SQL, NoSQL implementation, ETL, scripting languages (Python).
- Proven ability to work independently as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated leadership in developing strategic solutions that drive business value and operational efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate complex actuarial concepts and data insights clearly and persuasively.
- Passion for innovation and continuous improvement, with a customer-first mindset.
