We are seeking a qualified and experienced Carpenter to join our team at Preformed Victoria Pty Ltd. The role involves constructing, installing, and repairing timber and AAC wall panel structures for residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, the ability to interpret construction drawings, and a solid understanding of Australian building standards.

Task & responsibilities

- Interpret and work from construction drawings and specifications to determine materials, dimensions, and procedures

- Order and select timber, AAC panels, and other materials as per project requirements, and assist in preparing layout plans for installation

- Cut, shape, and assemble timber and wall panels to precise specifications

- Erect and install framework, sub‑floors, floorboards, roof framing, cladding, and window/door frames

- Install large‑format AAC panels using correct handling and safety procedures

- Construct concrete formwork and other supporting frameworks

- Cut wood joints and fit components using hand tools, power tools, and appropriate construction techniques.

- Use a variety of power and hand tools to complete jobs safely and efficiently

- Work collaboratively with onsite teams to meet project timelines

- Maintain safe and tidy work areas and follow all OH&S regulations

- Repair or replace existing wooden structures where needed

Qualification & experience

- Certificate III in Carpentry and/or Certificate IV in Building and Construction (or equivalent qualification)

- 2+ years of relevant work experience as a Carpenter, with proven experience in the construction and building industry.

- Experience working with wall systems, timber, plywood, and wallboard materials

- Understanding of Australian building codes and construction safety practices

- Physical fitness and ability to handle AAC panels and materials

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

- Valid White Card (Construction Induction Card)

- Driver’s license and reliable transport preferred

- Ability to read and interpret plans accurately
