Data Engineering Lead

Sunwater is looking for a full-time permanentData Engineering Lead to join our Information and Data Services team - where strategy meets execution and your expertise shapes the future of our data platforms.
In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the development of cutting-edge data solutions, tackle unique engineering problems, and steer the vision for platform architecture that aligns with Sunwater’s strategic goals. If you're ready to make a meaningful difference through data, we’d love to have you on board.
Other key responsibilities include:-
- Lead the delivery of innovative, fit-for-purpose data solutions by collaborating with technical experts and business stakeholders.
- Manage and optimise cloud data platform infrastructure, ensuring security, stability, and scalability to meet evolving business needs.
- Drive continuous improvement through performance analysis, automation frameworks, and adoption of best practices and emerging technologies.
We are seeking an experienced leader with 7+ years experience in data engineering. You will have a degree in IT, Business or related field and significant experience and relevant Azure or cloud platform related qualifications and experience with Databricks and dbt (highly desirable). In addition, you will have:
- Technical Excellence: Maintaining high standards in documentation, code management, and deployment practices.
- Performance Optimisation: Continuously analysing platform performance and implementing improvements to elevate user experience and system efficiency
- Strategic Data Leadership: Driving the vision for data engineering and platform development to support evolving business needs.
This full-time permanent opportunity is available for an immediate start.
