Position Title: Consultant Respiratory Medicine

Salary: MP Year 1-9 $336,466 - $427,886 p.a pro rata (inclusive of base salary and applicable allowances)

Contract Details: This is a fixed term/part-time appointment at 40 hours per fortnight for 6 months, with a contract start date on 02/02/2026.

Responsibilities and Role

Position Profile: The Consultant Respiratory Medicine leads the multidisciplinary team to provide respiratory specialist services to patients. Promotes patient safety and quality of care as well as provides leadership, orientation, training, supervision and education, where relevant, for doctors in training, HealthService Medical Practitioners and other health workers. In collaboration with the Medical/Service Co-Director/Head of Department/Head of Specialty and other Consultants, works to achieve national, state and EMHS performance standards and targets. Works within the scope of clinical practice as defined and recommended by the EMHS Area Medical Credentialing Committee.

Area Profile: Royal Perth Hospital (RPH) is Perth’s inner city, tertiary adult hospital and part of the Royal Perth Bentley Group. Home to the State Major Adult Trauma Service, RPH offers tertiary-level emergency medicine, mental health, complex and elective surgical care, and specialist medical services. It is also a premier teaching hospital and contributes to innovation and excellence in medical research and patient care.

Qualifications and Experience

Current experience in lung cancer, ILD and advanced lung disease is desirable.

Eligibility and Other Conditions

This process remains valid for twelve (12) months from the date the recruitment decision is endorsed.
