East Metropolitan Health Service (EMHS) is seeking a highly experienced and principled professional to join our People and Culture team as a Senior Consultant – Integrity and Ethics. This key role supports the promotion of ethical conduct and integrity across EMHS by leading investigations, providing expert advice, and driving strategic governance initiatives.

About the role: As the Senior Consultant – Integrity and Ethics, you will lead complex disciplinary investigations and medicine discrepancy inquiries, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. You’ll assess misconduct matters, prepare statutory notifications, maintain centralised conduct records, and analyse trends to identify systemic integrity issues. The role involves liaising with external agencies, preparing high-level reports, and supporting workforce risk management and compliance across EMHS.

You will also provide strategic advice on integrity and ethical governance, ensuring quality assurance in reporting and conduct processes. Supporting and educating stakeholders on misconduct prevention and incident management is key, along with contributing to policy development, leading integrity-focused projects, and promoting ethical behaviour across EMHS. As a registered Public Interest Disclosure (PID) Officer, you’ll help foster a culture of transparency and accountability.

About you: We’re seeking a professional with substantial experience in conducting complex, sensitive disciplinary investigations within government or regulated organisations. You’ll bring analytical skills to assess evidence and provide sound, lawful recommendations in addition to excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, logical reports and briefings. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently or within a small team.

A solid understanding of the legislative and regulatory frameworks governing integrity and probity in the public sector is required, along with a demonstrated commitment to ethical conduct and professionalism. Desirable qualifications include a Certificate IV in Administrative Investigations, experience in the health sector, and a commitment to Equal Opportunity principles in employment and service delivery.
