About the opportunity

As Nurse Manager, you’ll provide operational and clinical leadership to the nursing workforce of the Healthdirect helpline. You’ll manage a team of Clinical Leads, champion clinical excellence, and drive continuous improvement. You’ll play a key role in lifting the profile of nursing both within Healthdirect and externally.

Key Responsibilities

- Strategic and operational leadership of the nursing team, ensuring safe, effective, and consumer‑focused services.

- Champion the role and value of nursing across the organisation and in external forums.

- Oversee clinical governance, quality assurance, and risk management for nursing operations.

- Act as a key escalation point for clinical and operational issues.

- Lead workforce development, succession planning, and professional development initiatives.

- Represent nursing perspectives in organisational strategy, service innovation, and stakeholder engagement.

What We’re Looking For

- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.

- Minimum 5 years’ clinical experience, including leadership in telehealth, emergency, or primary care.

- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a virtual environment.

- Strong understanding of clinical governance, risk management, and quality frameworks.

- Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills.
