A job to be proud of: The Leave Administration Officer - Operations role manages and responds to operational leave inquiries within the Emergency stream. This includes parental leave, annual leave, long service leave and other leave types. The role requires a proactive, can‑do approach to handling phone and email communications and delivering clear, timely responses.

This is a permanent full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8.30 AM to 4.30 PM, based at the head office in Belmont.

We are seeking someone who demonstrates a willingness to learn, a positive attitude, strong organisational skills and a solid administrative background. Attention to detail and proficiency in Excel are essential to accurately track and manage leave records while collaborating with the Workforce Scheduling team to ensure smooth and effective operational leave management.

What you’ll do

- Ensure operational leave queries are responded to within three business days of receipt
- Provide information and advice to operations team members around leave
- Enter leave information accurately and efficiently into the CHRIS 21 Payroll system
- Provide leave reports for operational leadership that may include excessive annual/long service leave and monitor excessive book offs
- Advise and recommend strategies to operational leadership to reduce excessive leave liability
- Collaborate with the Workforce Scheduling team to ensure leave is appropriately scheduled and managed
- Escalate complex leave queries to the line manager for guidance and support
- Inform and keep the line manager up to date on complex matters unresolved for more than seven business days

What you’ll need

- Knowledge of systems, tools and processes relevant to this position
- Good problem solving and organisational skills
- High attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Proficient in MS Office
- Knowledge of awards and enterprise agreements
