Medical Receptionist - East Maitland Family Medical Centre

We are seeking an experienced medical receptionist to join our practice on a full-time or part-time basis. We have 6 general practitioners, 2 practice nurse and a helpful administration team at East Maitland Family Medical Centre + skin cancer clinic.

Reception Duties:

- Scheduling appointments for new and existing patients.

- Attending to patients face to face, over the telephone and by emails.

- Responding to all correspondence through faxes, emails and by phone.

- Experience in billing: Accounts / Invoices.

- Opening and closing surgery.

- Providing support for Doctors and Nurse.

Experience using Best Practice and Previous experience in a General Practice is a must.

Excellent communication skills and a professional manner.
Patience and empathy in dealing with patients.
High attention to detail.
Able to work independently.

Triage for General Practice and CPR training.

Knowledge of Medicare, DVA and Work Cover billings.

Knowledge of Practice Accreditation.

Ability to multi-task and prioritise under pressure (essential).

Strong attention to detail and accuracy is necessary.

Excellent verbal, written communication skill and professional phone manner.

Remuneration: Negotiable depending on past experience in medical centre.
